The American Revolution's Southern Campaign Presentations and Museum Exhibit
Poem
This Sonnet is one I wrote my senior year of High School for my English class. It was sent into a poem contest where it was chosen ans publised in a book called a celibration of poets: South Grades 10-11 Spring 2015.
The Armies of the Revolution
Our red uniforms seen from far away
We fight with pride and with pure fearlessness
We march to war with pride and with no sway
All for the might of his Royal Highness
We fight for liberty and to protect
We see the red and a flash of cold steel
This sends us running only to loose respect
We never return to the battle only yo heal
Our commanders ride with no trace of fear
Our blue uniforms worn and hand created
The British always know we are here
We march singing old songs and wave flags faded
Americans were freed by these armies
Their sacrifices gave us our liberty
